Experience and Explore Skill Electives Field Trips at Medhavi Skills University

The key to greatness is to look for people’s potential and spend time developing it. “The only skill that will be important in the 21st century is the skill of learning new skills” as stated by Peter Drucker. Medhavi Skills University as a new growing space develops the overall skills of the students. Along with acquiring and developing skills, the University equally prioritises the universal scope of skills and applies it through practice.

Keeping in mind its aim of developing its students with knowledge and skills. Medhavi Skills University has strategically thought of creating a Tour Manual for the second smallest state of India called Sikkim, specifically focusing on lesser popular places of Sikkim. The progressing manual meanwhile consists and covers two areas such as both popular and untapped tourist destinations, homestays, and its responsible practices wherein, the students were taken to nearby places to observe and to broaden their horizons. As a result, the students came up with a unique and creative piece of art. However, the students of these two Skill electives have collaborated on aspects such as field visits, documentation, and designs.

Recently, the students of MSU (Bermoik campus) went out on a Field Trip to Chayatal, West Sikkim. The place is not just a potential tourist spot, but also upholds the cultural significance of the Limboo Community. The history, cultural Heritage, and its continuity is learned, captured and recorded by the students. Similarly, the students of Singtam Campus went out on a Field trip to Rongaychu, a water park, East Sikkim. The students interacted with the caretaker, spent their pristine moment with nature. As a result of which they wrote a travelogue, which was posted and is maintained in their personal blogs.
