BSC IN ANIMATION AND VFX

Animation and Visual Effects (VFX) are integral components of the entertainment industry, captivating audiences with immersive storytelling, stunning visual effects, and lifelike characters. Animation involves the creation of moving images through the manipulation of graphical elements, while VFX encompasses the integration of computer-generated imagery (CGI) with live-action footage to produce seamless and visually striking effects. From animated films and television shows to blockbuster movies and video games, animation and VFX play a crucial role in bringing imaginary worlds to life and enhancing the viewer experience.


The Bachelor of Science in Animation and VFX program is designed to prepare students for dynamic careers in the animation, VFX, and digital media industries. Through a comprehensive curriculum blending theory and practice, students will explore a wide range of topics, including animation principles, character design, storyboarding, 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, compositing, and visual effects techniques. With access to state-of-the-art software, industry-standard equipment, and hands-on projects, students will develop the technical skills, artistic talents, and creative vision needed to thrive in this competitive field. The program emphasizes experiential learning, offering students opportunities to work on individual and collaborative projects, internships, and industry partnerships. Whether aspiring to become animators, VFX artists, character designers, motion graphics specialists, or storyboard artists, graduates will emerge from the program equipped with the practical skills, creative abilities, and industry insights needed to succeed in the dynamic world of animation and VFX.

Note: * Duration for Paramedical programmes (MLT/RIT/OTT/DT/EMT/OPTOMETRY) may extend by 3 months to 1 Year (Approx) to include Internship/On the Job Training for the awarding of Degree/Diploma as per the guidelines (if any) from State Allied and Healthcare Council, Sikkim.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

Graduates will demonstrate proficiency in a variety of animation techniques, including traditional hand-drawn animation, 3D computer animation, stop-motion animation, and motion graphics, enabling them to create captivating and expressive animations for film, television, gaming, and digital media platforms.

Graduates will develop advanced skills in visual effects production, including CGI integration, digital compositing, matte painting, particle effects, and motion tracking, allowing them to create seamless and visually stunning effects for films, commercials, music videos, and video games.
