Students from the Bachelor of Hotel and Hospitality Management (BHHM) and Bachelor of Hotel and Tourism Management (BHTM) programmes of Medhavi Skills University recently visited the Orchidarium in Gangtok as part of their experiential learning initiative on Urban Tourism.
The visit also highlighted the growing significance of floral tourism, a niche segment contributing to Sikkim’s broader sustainable tourism objectives. In a continued effort to blend practical exposure with academic learning, Medhavi Skills University organized an immersive field visit for its hospitality and tourism students.
Faculty members accompanying the students stated that such field exposures strengthen classroom learning by offering real-world perspectives. The university emphasised that experiential learning remains central to its teaching approach — ensuring students continue to grow, observe, and connect with industry practices beyond traditional academic settings.
