Social science courses are often perceived as purely theoretical, with a focus on memorization rather than application. However, the Introduction to Contemporary Social Problems (ICSP) course at Medhavi Skills University (MSU) aims to challenge this perception by developing critical thinking and analysis skills in students as they explore various social problems that they are already a part of. This course provides students with a sociological and transdisciplinary perspective on social problems and introduces them to field survey techniques in order to gain a deeper understanding of the surrounding community and its issues.

ICSP is not just a theoretical course, but also includes practical components such as group activities, debates, and presentations, where students can apply their knowledge to real-world situations and share their thoughts and ideas on social problems. The goal of this course is to provide students with a sociological understanding of social phenomena and contemporary social issues, as well as to explore potential solutions to these problems.

In addition to ICSP, MSU also offers a course called Science and World, which aims to provide students with an understanding of the role that science plays in shaping the world around them. This course covers a wide range of topics in both theory and practice, including presentations, group activities, and discussions. Its objectives include helping students to apply scientific thinking in their daily lives, increasing their knowledge of science and technology, and raising awareness of environmental issues. By connecting science and society, this course aims to provide students with a holistic understanding of modern-day issues.
