MSU Hosts Community Health Camp

About the Event

The Departments of Nutrition & Dietetics and Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) under the School of Health Science and Technology, Medhavi Skills University (MSU), jointly organized a Health Camp at the Senior Secondary School, Kitam. The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare awareness and provide hands-on learning opportunities for MSU students. During the camp, students from the EMT department conducted basic health check-ups including vital assessments, blood pressure (BP), and SpO₂ monitoring, ensuring the school students received personalized health insights. Meanwhile, students from the Nutrition & Dietetics department carried out BMI evaluations and offered individual nutrition counselling, emphasizing the importance of balanced diets in daily life. The event also featured an engaging demonstration on proper handwashing techniques to highlight the role of hygiene in preventing infections. To further strengthen health literacy, an interactive dietary awareness session was held, helping participants distinguish between healthy and unhealthy food choices. The camp successfully reached 30 students from Classes 9 and 10, encouraging them to adopt healthier lifestyle habits while broadening the practical exposure of MSU’s budding healthcare professionals. This initiative reflects MSU’s commitment to integrating classroom learning with community engagement, empowering students to apply their skills for societal well-being and fostering a culture of preventive healthcare awareness across local communities.
