Medhavi Skills University has entered into a partnership with TAFE Queensland Australia to enhance the quality of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in India. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on April 20th, 2023, at the Australian High Commission in New Delhi by Mr. Kuldip Sarma, Pro Chancellor of MSU, and Ms. Suzanne Smith, Head of Partnerships and Engagement for TAFE Queensland in presence of Mr. Vipul Rastogi, Director of Education at Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Aus Trade). The partnership aims to promote knowledge exchange in the TVET field, aligning Australian qualifications with Indian skills standards. This alignment will allow for skill training in India to be conducted according to international standards, creating opportunities for overseas migration pathways. We are thrilled to be collaborating with TAFE Queensland and look forward to the exciting opportunities this partnership will bring for the future of technical education in India.

As part of their hands-on learning journey, students recently participated in an exposure visit titled ‘Tourism Product and Services in West Sikkim’, which involved immersive experiences across various local homestays. The visit aimed to bridge academic learning with real-world applications, allowing students to gain firsthand insights into the evolving trends of the tourism industry. During the visit, students explored a variety of tourism-related products and services that are unique to the West Sikkim region. They interacted with local hosts and stakeholders, observed tourist preferences, and studied the scope and challenges of rural tourism. From eco-tourism and cultural tourism to adventure and wellness offerings, the experience highlighted the diverse opportunities available within the sector.

In a moment of great pride, Medhavi Skills University (MSU) has been conferred the prestigious title of “Best Skills University in the North East” for its outstanding contribution and leadership in the field of skill development and outcome-based education, aligning seamlessly with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The award was presented during the CEGR (Centre for Education Growth and Research) Excellence Awards Ceremony, held on April 18th in New Delhi. The honour was received by Mr. Pravesh Dudani, Founder & Chancellor of MSU, from the Honourable Minister of State for Rural Development, Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste ji. This recognition reaffirms MSU’s commitment to transforming education through industry-integrated learning, work-integrated degree programs, and a strong focus on employability. MSU’s innovative approach to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world skills has made it a pioneer in the skilling ecosystem of the region.

As part of their F&B Service practical, students of Medhavi Skills University transformed the Med Spice Café into a spooky and vibrant space with a creative Halloween-themed setup. From eerie decorations and ambient lighting to themed table settings, every detail reflected the spirit of Halloween. In addition to the décor, the students also curated a special Halloween menu, featuring creatively named dishes and drinks inspired by the occasion. The menu combined culinary creativity with service finesse, offering guests a unique and festive dining experience. This activity was not just about celebration—it served as a live learning module in event setup, menu planning, guest engagement, and thematic presentation. The hands-on experience helped students understand the intricacies of managing seasonal events in a real-time café setting.

We were delighted to host the delegates from Human Resource Development Department (HRDD) Sikkim, and State Allied and Healthcare Council (SAHC), Sikkim. MSU's insightful innovation to integrate Skills into Higher Education for an industry-led & education while assuring seamless integration of NEP was appreciated. The advanced infrastructure, Industry-in-Campus, and Experienced faculty enabling a professional learning experience for the practice of Industry skills, as a unique model, impressed the visitors. The delegates congratulated the faculty, students, and senior management for the initiative to practice an end-to-end Digital Environment for Learning and Assessment, that is futuristic to enable flexibility and transparency towards the outcomes for quality education. Effort of our students from Hotel Management in facilitating the hospitality to the visitors as a part of their work-practice was also admired.
