With kites soaring high, the sky quickly filled with vibrant hues, marking the festival with energy, enthusiasm and shared excitement. The spirit of friendly competition added to the festive charm.

Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim celebrated Maghe Sankranti on 14 January 2026 at the Sports Arena, Topakhani, bringing together the traditions of Bhogali Bihu, Makar Sankranti and Pongal in a vibrant community gathering. The programme opened with a warm welcome and felicitation of dignitaries, followed by reflections on the harvest festival’s message of gratitude, prosperity and collective harmony.

Medhavi Skills University takes pride in the achievement of Mr. Diwash Kapil Chettri, faculty member at MSU, whose AI startup, Apuphi, has secured foreign direct investment from Germany. This milestone marks one of Sikkim’s earliest instances of structured overseas funding in the technology sector, underscoring the growing confidence in innovation emerging from the region and the expanding opportunities for technology-led enterprises from the North-East.
