Held on campus, the program brought together employees from various departments for a full day of engagement, reflection, and skill-building—setting a strong foundation for future developmental initiatives at MSU. Organised by the HR team in partnership with the English Department, the session was thoughtfully designed to promote confidence, teamwork, and meaningful interaction. The day began with warm and energising icebreaking activities that enabled participants to connect with one another beyond their formal roles. These were followed by fun and dynamic team-building tasks that encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and collective participation. A series of interactive exercises further strengthened communication skills, helping participants understand the value of clarity, empathy, and active listening in a collaborative workspace. These activities not only enhanced interpersonal understanding but also fostered a positive, uplifting environment where ideas could be shared freely and respectfully. Throughout the program, facilitators offered insightful messages and reflections on workplace culture, professionalism, and the importance of continuous improvement. Emphasis was placed on building a cohesive work environment where staff feel supported, valued, and empowered to contribute their best. The session aimed to introduce students to the essential standards of personal presentation and professional conduct expected in the aviation and hospitality sectors. During the workshop, Ms. Hingmang shared clear and practical guidance on a range of topics, including grooming norms, effective communication, body posture, and professional behaviour. She highlighted how these fundamental practices contribute to creating strong first impressions, maintaining workplace discipline, and building confidence—qualities that are highly valued across customer-facing industries. Students gained a deeper understanding of how the aviation and hospitality industries operate, especially when it comes to maintaining consistency, personal discipline, and service excellence. By illustrating real-world examples from her professional journey, Ms. Hingmang helped students relate to the expectations of the workplace and recognise how small, everyday habits can positively influence their long-term career growth. The workshop proved to be an engaging and valuable learning experience. It offered students practical, actionable takeaways that they can apply as they prepare to enter the professional world. Overall, the session successfully reinforced the importance of grooming, etiquette, and professionalism as key components of a successful career in hospitality, tourism, and aviation.

The workshop highlighted the significance of proper dining manners, effective communication, and polished personal presentation—key elements that make a lasting impression in corporate and hospitality settings. Through live demonstrations, hands-on activities, and engaging discussions, participants explored the finer details of table settings, napkin etiquette, body language, conversational cues, and overall professional behavior at the dining table. The interactive nature of the session ensured that students not only learned the theoretical aspects of fine dining but also practiced them in real time, helping them build confidence for formal events, interviews, and networking opportunities. Dr. Tiwari’s expertise and practical approach made the session both informative and enjoyable, leaving students inspired to apply these refined skills in their personal and professional journeys.

This event also marked a thoughtful new initiative from the HR Team, designed to offer a refreshing break from routine and foster genuine camaraderie among staff. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to unwind, connect, and celebrate the joy of being part of one big, vibrant team. As we look ahead, we’re excited for many more such engaging activities that promote teamwork, positivity, and workplace wellness. We are proud to share that Mr. Sarma was invited as a distinguished panelist at the National Conference on “Skilling and Entrepreneurship for the Future: 25 Years of Promise”, organized by the Department of Skill Development & Employment, Government of Uttarakhand, in collaboration with SETU Aayog. During the conference, the Vice Chairman of SETU Aayog appreciated Mr. Sarma’s visionary leadership and highlighted Medhavi Skills University’s exemplary contribution to India’s skilling ecosystem. He noted that MSU is among the very few universities in India that have fully operationalized the vision of NEP 2020, truly integrating vocational education, industry-driven curriculum, and competency-based learning to build a future-ready workforce. As a keynote speaker, Mr. Sarma presented MSU’s groundbreaking Work-Integrated Learning model, which seamlessly connects classroom learning with real industry environments—empowering students to earn while they learn and gain hands-on experience aligned with emerging global opportunities.

Students from the Bachelor of Hotel and Hospitality Management (BHHM) and Bachelor of Hotel and Tourism Management (BHTM) programmes of Medhavi Skills University recently visited the Orchidarium in Gangtok as part of their experiential learning initiative on Urban Tourism. The visit also highlighted the growing significance of floral tourism, a niche segment contributing to Sikkim’s broader sustainable tourism objectives. In a continued effort to blend practical exposure with academic learning, Medhavi Skills University organized an immersive field visit for its hospitality and tourism students. Faculty members accompanying the students stated that such field exposures strengthen classroom learning by offering real-world perspectives. The university emphasised that experiential learning remains central to its teaching approach — ensuring students continue to grow, observe, and connect with industry practices beyond traditional academic settings.
