This community outreach initiative was part of MSU’s continued commitment to promoting preventive healthcare and holistic community development. The primary objective of the camp was to create awareness about eye health, ensure early detection of vision-related problems, and encourage students to adopt regular eye check-ups as part of a healthy lifestyle.Key Highlights of the CampComprehensive preliminary eye screenings were conducted, which included registration, visual acuity assessments, and refraction tests.Out of the total participants, around 20% of students (24) were diagnosed with refractive errors that required corrective lenses for improved vision. A few students were also found to have minor ocular issues such as allergic conjunctivitis and eye strain, likely due to prolonged exposure to digital screens and poor reading habits. Students identified with refractive errors were referred to the nearest district hospital for detailed examination, prescription of spectacles, and further medical support. Beyond the immediate medical benefits, the camp played a vital role in highlighting the importance of eye health in academic performance and personal well-being. Clear vision is crucial for learning, concentration, and confidence — and through this initiative, MSU aimed to empower students to perform better in their studies and daily lives. This successful event not only reinforced MSU’s dedication to social responsibility but also strengthened its relationship with the local community. By extending healthcare awareness to schools and remote areas, MSU continues to foster an environment of care, inclusion, and shared growth. A heartfelt acknowledgment goes to Mr. Subham Sarkar (Faculty Supervisor) and the team of enthusiastic student volunteers — Povitra Chettri, Meje Taniang, Babika Subba, Simran Kumari, Eksha Hangma Limboo Subba, Bomika Sewa, and Manit Kumar Rai — for their invaluable support, coordination, and hands-on participation. Their teamwork and compassion were instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution and success of the camp. Through such impactful initiatives, Medhavi Skills University continues to champion the cause of community service, public health, and youth engagement, aligning with its mission of building a skilled, healthy, and socially responsible generation.
